|What You Should Know!
- You need to be saved.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)
- You cannot save yourself.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (Titus 3:5)
- God has provided your salvation.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
- Jesus is the only way of salvation.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
- God desires to save you.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9)
How Can I Be Saved?
- Acknowledge yourself as a sinner.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. (Psalms 51:3)
- Believe what God says in the Bible.
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31)
- Repent - Turn to God.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3)
- Call upon the Lord from your heart, ask Him to save you.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)
Now That I'm Saved - What Next?
- Be assured of salvation.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: (Philippians 1:6)
- Be Baptized.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: (Acts 2:41)
- Join a local Church.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)
If you've made a decision to follow Christ, the most important thing you can do is contact someone, perhaps someone at a local church near you, to whom you can share this experience. This person will be able to help you get started on your new life in Christ.
